چکیده
Background: Perinatal asphyxia is one of common causes neonatal morbidity and mortality. Disorders electrolytes are more in the immediate postnatal period could affects outcomes neonates significantly. Therefore, we conducted this study with specific aims to describe electrolyte status asphyxiated find out several factors associated disorders neonates. Methods: This was a cross-sectional descriptive carried 80 admitted at Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Hue Central Hospital, City, from April 2021 August 2022. Results: In neonates, average serum value sodium, potassium, calcium were 136.6; 4.8 1.1 mmol/l, respectively. 62.5% had disorders. Hypocalcemia most disorder 37.5%, followed by hyponatremia (32.5%). Hyperkalemia accounted for 13.7%. We observed higher hyperkalemia severe than moderate asphyxia. Apgar score less 7 5 minutes increased risk (odd ratio:8.9; 29.3, respectively p < 0.01). There correlation sodium potassium on (rs = 0.3 rs - 0.6, 0.05). Conclusion: Electrolyte The types hyperkalemia, hypocalcemia. Key words: hyponatremia, hypocalcemia,

Renal failure in asphyxiated neonates.
A prospective case controlled study was conducted in the NICU of a tertiary level referral teaching hospital to determine the incidence of renal failure in asphyxiated neonates and to correlate severity and type of renal failure with Apgar score and hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) grading of the neonates. Ninety-eight neonates were enrolled 70 asphyxiated babies and 28 healthy controls. R...
متن کاملStridor in asphyxiated neonates undergoing therapeutic hypothermia.
Therapeutic hypothermia is an established standard of care in the treatment of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Application of therapeutic hypothermia in the clinical setting may reveal a wider spectrum of adverse events than previously reported. We report 5 cases of transient respiratory stridor in 51 infants, occurring at different time points in the cooling process, which appeared to be unre...
متن کاملResidual hippocampal atrophy in asphyxiated term neonates.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Previous studies have shown the hippocampus and basal ganglia to be highly sensitive to hypoxic-ischemic insult. The authors' aim was to evaluate the long-term effects of perinatal asphyxia (PA) on the hippocampus and caudate nucleus in a group of participants born at term and who met the criteria for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Additionally, the authors looked...
متن کاملComparison between serum magnesium levels of asphyxiated neonates and normal cases
Background: Asphyxia is one the most important causes of neonatal mortality and morbidity. It is suggested that magnesium may have a protective role against cellular damage during hypoxic brain insult, or change effect post-asphyxia consequences. Our study was performed for comparison of serum magnesium in neonates with and without asphyxia. Methods: This study was done in Neona...
متن کاملPost-resuscitation management of asphyxiated neonates.
Inspite of major advances in monitoring technology and knowledge of fetal and perinatal medicine, perinatal asphyxia is one of the significant causes of mortality and long term morbidity. Data from National Neonatal Perinatal Database suggests that perinatal asphyxia contributes to almost 20% of neonatal deaths in India. "Failure to initiate or sustain respiration after birth" has been defined ...
